Footage from Round 2 of the Dynamite Drift Competition held at Motorland SP in Nanbu, Japan on the 21st of June.
Our friend Donnie ended up taking second in the beginner class, congrats to him! The winner of the expert class turned out to be the japanese guy driving the red S15 Silvia.
I had a great time going out there to film this event. It was actually the first Dynamite Drift event that i had ever been too. The weather forecast said we were expecting rain, but in the end i came home with a nasty sunburn and a whole lot of decent footage. I can’t wait until Round 3!

Here’s a kick ass video of the MDDM filmed and edited by Erik Elder.

21 Jun 2009 – Dynamite Drift Round 2 at MSP was indeed eventful. Not only the winner of the expert class drifted his way to the trophy after flipping his car over and having one of our very own Donny Knight take second place in the begginers class.
Congrats again Donnie!

Yet another kick ass event put together by Greg “Metal Gami” Franklin along with Eagle Auto Works! This years Memorial Day Drift event was in my neighbors words “Awesomesauce!”. The Gaijin’s are in full attendance again… well, most of us hahaha.

So, you’re chillin at home and looking out the window watching it rain all day and all of a sudden your friend calls and wants to go drifting, so what do you do? Fucking right doggie, you pack up and call another friend and see if they want to go.
Needless to say, me, Jason and Phil were at the track one rainy afternoon and it was a blast.
Photos taken by me and Jason.

The relationship between MSP and Ebisu cannot be more concrete than ever with this event hel on the 10th of May 2009 at MSP with Team Orange, Drift Zamurai and a couple of D1 GP/D1 SL drivers showing up along with other Tohoku drifters.
The guests overwhelmed the track and gave the D1 drivers a great welcome once again. Too bad my camera’s battery went out later in the afternoon.

This is one of the first American Day Drift events held at MSP. The event was put together by Greg “Metal Gami” Franklin and Eagle Auto Works. It was a great day for us and always an awesome time drifting with the Japanese locals!
Unfortunately most of the cars retired early due to various car/engine problems.

Up here in Northern Japan, it usually sucks for dry pavement drifters but on other hand brings nothing but great joy to people that loves racing on this type of element. What you see here is the Winter Time Attack held at Motorland SP last Feb 2008. The track was filled with all sorts of cars ranging from Capuccino’s to Jimny’s.
It was quite exciting but painful holding a camera still with frozen fingers.
